  • Camping - overnight

Saturday:

  • Explore Snowdonia's wilderness, valleys, and mountains.
  • Wild swimming - if you're keen

On this wild camping trip in Snowdonia, you’ll spend two days and two nights in the lesser travelled parts of the Snowdonia National Park, camping out in the wilderness and hiking its more remote mountains. You’ll have a chance to swim in mountain lakes, watch a sunset and, if the weather allows, even camp on a mountain summit.

This is a fantastic introduction to wild camping, something every adventurer needs to try, but we know it but can be a bit daunting at first. Join us on this weekend in Snowdonia for a fully supported introduction and a chance to share our favourite parts of this magnificent landscape.

IS THIS THE RIGHT TRIP FOR ME?

Is this a good trip if I'm travelling solo?

  • Absolutely! Many solo adventurers, couples, and groups join us. It's a fab way to meet awesome folks.
  • More than half of our guests book on solo, so you’ll be in good company.

What's the typical age range?

  • We see a mix, from 20s to 50s.
  • Don’t focus too much on this though…

Is there a minimum age for this trip?

  • 18 years old

How fit do I need to be?

  • You'll need a moderate level of fitness for this one. Don't worry though, you don't need to be a super hiker. Keep in mind though that you'll be carrying kit for wild camping too (approx 10-12kgs)

Roughly how many miles will we be walking each day?

  • Distances vary and we may need to change the route during the trip, but expect typically a 3km night hike, 14km on day one and 10km on day two.
  • Remember though you’ll be carrying a heavy pack (10kg ish) over potentially rough terrain.

What size will the group be?

  • Up to 8 guests per group (usually).

How many mountain leaders will be walking with us?

  • One guide per group of 8.

Do I need travel insurance?

  • Yes, check that it covers the trip you’re interested in
  • We also recommend you get some personal insurance to cover you for injury or any personal loss or damage.

Is the guide insured?

  • Yes, our guiding partners are insured for all the activities they offer, but you’ll still need to take out your own travel insurance.

ACCOMMODATION

How do sleeping arrangements work if three people book this trip?

  • We’ll provide 1-man tents and can offer 3-man tents for couples or two people – or friendly groups of three.

KIT

Can I borrow equipment?

  • Absolutely. We provide tents, warm sleeping bags and sleeping mats free of charge.  These are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised and quarantined for at least 1 week between uses.

What should I pack?

  • We’ll send you a full kit list once you’ve booked

OTHER

Is there a discount for group bookings?

  • Unfortunately not, we offer a competitive and fair price so we can’t offer further discounts.

Is there a discount if I make my own way there or travel from a different starting point?

  • Unfortunately not for this trip.

Can we have a campfire?

  • Unfortunately, campfires aren’t allowed as we like to leave no trace. That doesn’t stop you enjoying a brew under the stars though.
  • Free cancellation or date change up to 65 days before departure
  • Deposits are non-refundable unless the trip is cancelled by us, then you'll get a full refund
